Vicarious Computing

The T shirt slogan reads:

A person is rich
In proportion to
The number of
Things they can
Afford

To let alone.
Thoreau

Another day away from you dear laptop. I appreciate another from afar. Vicarious computing?

Another great day in Edmonton starting with a morning meditation meeting. As they arrived I found myself quite excited inside on catching sight of people I knew while a Prior here. I have visited since that time however my encounters with people and familiar priory objects is unusually intense this time.

I am rich!
I can afford to let alone.
Attachment and detachment –
one movement.

Computer At A Distance

Is it still the day FB
Went down?
I wonder at my
Distant Computer.

Away from you
For days on
End now.
And happy too.

I don’t FB
Don’t Twitter
Do write a
Blog.

This is my attempt to get close enough to my laptop to open it. (Now posting from my phone.) I’ve multiple thoughts to write about but finding it difficult to muster what it takes to connect with the keys after this long break.

Enough to say I have had a wonderfully restorative all systems break since arriving in Canada. In Vancouver and then in Victoria. Thankyou to all who have made this possible. And to those who have inspired and encouraged – and listened.

The pilgrimage continues here in Edmonton. This am a river valley walk and talk – more insight and more inspiration. Thanks for today and it ain’t over yet.
