Now, East meets West in ‘Monkey: Journey to the West’, a new production that reinvents the legend with a thrilling combination of music and action.

  1. I was a student in Manchester for many years, and was fortunate to hear the Halle (then at the Free Trade Hall) conducted by Sir John Barbirolli. A great man by any reckoning. In old age though, I confess to a soft spot for Liverpool!!

  2. Ah, that’s right. It was the Free Trade Hall notthe Bridgewater Hall. I’ve mixed memories of Liverpool…
