Proceeding Playfully

Visited Holker Hall. Went to see the Rhododendrons in bloom. Did all I could to see…and this is what happened.

Photography has become playful, perhaps my eyes have become playful. Maybe what’s there is responding, playfully!

Watch John Daido Loori Roshi talking about photography, meditation practice and Minor White his photography teacher.

Many thanks to the Reverend for the link.

  1. The Rhododenron at the Temple just had it’s first two blossoms open on Tuesday…I left on Monday and they were just begin to shyly show the tips of color. Rev. Master let me know they had started the next day. I’m at the temple again on 22nd…hopefully the tree will be blooming completely and I’ll get you a picture!

    Hope you are well!

  2. Thank you for the photos. Why did the rhody go out on a limb when a bench was so close?? Triffids?? I thought they were tribbles!!

Portland has been bursting with blossoms for 6-8 weeks: first, daffo and daphne; next, trees, all kinds of trees and tulips; clematis, azalea, wisteria, iris, rhodies and roses. Whew!

  3. Beautiful photos. I have been away from your blog for awhile so it is nice
to catch up. I cannot remember a day when I did not take a photo or two or several hundred. I will be returning to LA from Japan in a couple of days and will definitely try to catch up with your postings then or now or now and then.
