R.I.P.

This cat in Montana loved to hang out on the bird table, with the statue of Kanzeon. Bodhisattva of Great Compassion.

Uma, who had a mention a few days ago, died this afternoon. Now we just have Smudge the cat. He was off down the lane in the dark this evening, probably hunting.

  1. Rev Mugo, just got back from Berlin and read about your loss…my thoughts go out to you and the community! You had such kind words when Hugo died…all the best from an beautifully autumned Frankfurt…Jack

  2. Yes, Uma was a favoured cat. Loved and cared for over the years, by several of the monks.

I believe she was buried wraped in a blanket knitted by her first ‘person’. I think I might have even provided the wool, now I think about it.

Glad you like the photo RB. That cat was eaten by a mountain lion, as I understand it. The head was left under a shed near the house.
