“There Is Nothing New Under The Sun
(Ecclesiastes 1:9-14 NIV) What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. {10} Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.”
I loved your quote about the tree not needing to adopt ‘new & startling methods’.It made me think of ‘nothing new under the sun’ & I set out to Google it. I am quite surprised to discover the quote is from the Bible. Lots of wisdom in there.
By happenstance, I recently have been reading “Wildwood” by Roger Deakin. It is a classic, essential reading for those who love trees.
I’m making a mental note of the book you mention Doris. As ever, good to see you here.
Hum….I will have to ponder on this one Angie. Thanks. I too liked the ‘new and startling methods’ bit of this poem/quote.
